and April is the cruelest month...
….when I first read this line by Eliot I thought of course he was wrong. He had no idea of an Indian May and even June. However now he has been proved doubly wrong. This wrong is in the inversely proportional sense as far as the weather of Kolkata is concerned. The weather gods have been extremely kind to us and have shown unmanageable generosity for the past few days. We have been soaked and spattered in rain and dirt water while puddles have been formed round our office doors.
Naturally though, most of us are complaining of this unwanted friendliness. “Surely summer is preferable, no one has to bother about umbrellas!” pipes one.there should be an orderliness in the way God works His will! Who wants such untimely coldness, after all?
Besides its not just unpredictable rainfall in April, heavy snowfall in the same season bedazzles my friends in United Kingdom. It simply belies all expectation. We have not thought of this form of global warming before….. blistering barnacles, can anyone explain what is happening?
